Denise Bordieri

Executive Vice President
As MERCY’s Executive Vice President, Denise Borderi oversees all MERCY programs worldwide. She’s responsible for the development of new programs and program sites, as well as the recruitment, development, and ongoing management of our MERCY branch Directors. She also oversees marketing, and the International Day of MERCY global t-shirt distribution. Denise was born in San Bernardino, California and was raised in West Linn, Oregon. In time, Denise worked for the Albany Chamber of Commerce in Oregon, co-owned ELDE Designs an interior design company, and later worked for Nike at their world headquarters in Portland, Oregon. She also served Nike overseas while living in Argentina and Taiwan . She has had the opportunity to travel to many countries in Asia, South America, and Europe. Denise volunteered abroad in Santiago, Chile after a large earthquake in 2011. She was able to pass out water, food, and clothing items after this devastating event. While traveling in different regions of the world Denise has witnessed first hand poverty and the different ways that people live. She has an appreciation for the diversity found in the world today and a deep affection to help those in need and make a global impact. For these reasons she helped to establish MERCYWORLDWIDE in 2008 alongside her husband and close friends from her church with a vision to make a global impact on the world today.

What people say

I think mercy means helping out because of compassion...and not expecting anything in return.

If I didn't say it enough, thank you, thank you, thank you. I know The Farm and Garden belong, truly, to Gilpin but I feel a great deal of responsibility for making the grounds a beautiful, usable space for the teachers, parents and students. Your team’s work was beyond words. We completed and started so many projects that are now easier to understand and move forward.

Unlike other groups, you all are very excited, making sure to communicate. You bring a different energy, & are helpful regardless of how exhausted you all might be!

I was encouraged by all of the laughs during BINGO, creative art projects, great food, and new friendships. One aspect that truly touched my heart was to see how so many people communicated with one another.

The Red Cross Los Angeles Region could not have come this far without your unique support of our community resiliency effort
