Hebrews 13:16 “ Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

With clemency of heart, we at MERCYWORLDWIDE enter another year where we are moved and encouraged to push forward and prepare for another Toy & Food Drive in aid of helping/serving young orphans and children in disadvantaged part of London and around the world, especially in Africa; We also serve children with learning disabilities or long term illnesses.

Our dedicated Ambassadors went “all out” to make this years’ Toy-Drive 2014 a success, we were able to collect over 50 toys for this year’s Toy Drive.  This year we had a large turnout and and were pleased to see the impact in the lives of those that have so little. We’re very pleased with the love shown by the Ambassadors towards these causes.

This year we served the following two organizations that have great causes for children:

So He Cares (SHC) with registered No: RV141714 is a Christian international organization seeking to respond to the needs of Children with learning disabilities.

We are fully registered and located both in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom. We aim to promote social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance wellbeing. “Based on our theme we will be very pleased to work together with any organisation that aims to improve and enable the general being of children and the community in general. In Nigeria, we are located in Port-Harcourt on no.137 Abuloma Road and would be very grateful to receive some gifts for the children as we celebrate the New Year in peace love and great joy. Our children and the community in general will benefit from these gifts as we share love, peace and joy.”

Ruth, Director (SHC) was presented with over 20 toys of different varieties suitable for the children in her Care.

Queen Hospital, Children’s Ward “a Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust that serves a population of around 700,000, from a wide range of social and ethnic groups, making it one of the largest acute hospital trusts in England. Queen’s Hospital in Romford opened in 2006…Unit at Queen’s to provide specialist care. We are committed to working closely with our partners in the community to place patients’ needs at the centre”

Our main highlight of the season, was when Oliver Greenwood, one of our Trustees, presented the toys to the hospital alongside Michael (MERCY Director) and a few Ambassadors on the 22nd of the December. This event served many purposes, first to the children “in need” recovering from operations or with long-term illness, and their friends and relatives visiting. Secondly, it is an opportunity for the MERCY leadership and Ambassadors to engage with the local groups offering similar services and/ or with similar objectives. ASDA supper stores, who inspired MERCY to engage with the hospital also presented the children with toys. MERCY and Barking ASDA have served together for a food drive in 2012 and  2014 (Annual Day of MERCY).

We look forward to MERCY Toy Drive in 2015.
